Caffeinated Meat

Fad diets don’t last long. The main cause is something like zero carbs zaps you of energy and drives you nuts while the smell of cake breaks your will to hold off on the sugary morsels of goodness as you binge eat your diet down the tubes. Luckily when you turn to your butcher for help, you will find great tasting, low carb, energy boosting meals that taste great and keep you sane!

For all you Starbucks lovers looking for recipes that combines the velvety roasted little grinds and the wonderful world of meaty, low carb goodness, you’re in luck. Our recipe this month combines the two in a savory, flavor filled, slow cooking phenomena.

Gio’s Crock Pot Beef Roast

Indgredients:

4lb beef roast (we recommend a bone in for flavor)

2 onions thinly sliced

2 tsp Christopher Ranch chopped garlic

1 cup brewed coffee

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup cornstarch (this helps keep the carbs to a minimum while thickening your sauce)

salt and pepper

Directions: Put about half the onions on the bottom of a crock pot with the beef roast lying on top. Top with the chopped garlic and the remaining onions. Combine coffee and soy sauce and pour over the beef. Slow cook 8-10 hours or until beef is tender and falling apart. Separate meat from juices and mix in cornstarch until desired thickness is achieved. Add water if necessary. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 lb of beef without the bone will serve 8-10. With bone, will serve 4-6 and will taste much better 😉
